Laser Treatment For Acne – Is All The Hype True?
Posted by: | CommentsDo you suffer from moderate to severe acne and have not been able to find lasting relief from the myriad of acne treatment products available in your local supermarket or drugstore? Then perhaps laser acne treatments are for you. Multitudes of acne sufferers claim to have found the lasting results with acne laser treatment that they could not find anywhere else, and maybe it is the thing that will work for you as well.
Laser acne treatments remain a popular option to deal with acne because of the excellent results that are being achieved, and because of the painlessness that is generally associated with the procedure. The only negative in the equation is that the procedure is not that inexpensive, and it could end up costing you hundreds of dollars.
The question that needs to be asked is, do acne laser treatments actually work? And the answer thus far has been a resounding yes. In fact laser treatment for acne is an FDA approved procedure. In this procedure, a laser beam targets just the areas of the skin that have been affected by acne, and there are few, if any, complications or side effects.
There are two main types of lasers used in treating acne today: a nonablative laser and a CO2 laser. Nonablative lasers are more for those who suffer from moderate, as opposed to severe, cases of acne. They are used to penetrate the layers of the skin and stimulate the growth of collagen, leading to better skin tone, a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines, and an improved appearance of the skin overall.
Then there is the CO2 laser, which is utilized for more extensive acne cases. With this laser, a beam of light is used to take away all the layers of acne damaged tissue, which will be replaced by newer, healthier tissue as healing takes place. This generally produces outstanding results, and many skin care experts are in agreement that there is no better acne treatment available to the acne sufferer today.
If there are any side effects to the laser acne procedure, they tend to be short lived and mild. These side effects can include irritation of the treated skin, redness and swelling. All in all, there are far less risks and complications associated with laser acne treatment than with some of the chemical treatments that many acne patients end up subjecting themselves to, with limited results.

Acne Could Affect Men Too
Posted by: | CommentsQuite in contrast to what many people think, acne is not just restricted to females. Honestly, the problem affects males too. While acne cure remains nearly same in both the genders, there are particular things that men should keep in mind when nursing acne. Here are some of them.
The first thing that men should make note of is to keep their face clean. For most males; cleaning means just splashing their face with water. However, there’s a lot more to cleaning than just wetting your face. You need to use a good antibacterial cleaner to keep your face clean.
Using soaps to wash face is not a great idea since soaps contain detergents. Make it a habit to clean your face at least twice- in morning and before you go off to sleep. Do not be hard with your skin while rubbing if you have acne. This can end up in pricking of existing spots and permanent scars.
Beware of touching your acne. It’s a very common mistake many men make. Another common habit of men who nurse acne is that, they can’t help rubbing their skin. They can not bear the itching men who nurse acne causes and hence indulge in frequent rubbing of skin. If you want to keep acne in check, then such practices are therefore indulge in frequent touching and rubbing of pimples can make the infection spread to other bits of face also. This in turn could aggravate your acne to a significant extent.
Make note of the fact that it moisturizing is imperative for those that suffer from acne. Men generally are not much into skin care routine like that of moisturizing. Moisturizing is vital to prevent the skin from drying and to keep it supple. If you’re undergoing acne treatment, your skin can get dry. So the need of employing a moisturizer becomes all the more important. If you don’t and to have coarse and patchy skin which is not healthy in any way. So moisturize your skin to keep acne at bay. However make sure that the moisturizer that you use is oil free and non comedogenic.
Men must be extremely careful when they shave if they have ugly pimples or zits on their face. Try and shave as gently as possible over the areas affected. Try to not prick or shave your pimples. Use an electrical razor instead of the usual razor as it helps shave your skin better and without causing any skin irritation.
Another crucial thing to be remembered while shaving, is to employ of a thick shaving cream. This can help you avoid pricking of spots. Always start your shave with wetting your beard with warm water. This helps to soften the hair. Ensure that you wash your face with cold water, once you are through with your shaving. This will help to shut down the open pores. Immediately apply anti acne medications after your shave and avoid using any aftershave.
It isn’t tough to treat acne as it is often made out to be. So men who are nursing acne should keep the aforesaid tips in mind. These tips would certainly through with the problem better.
